Air Force Wounded Warrior Head Swimming Coach and Open Water Planet CEO Bobby Brewer has been selected to lead the US swim contingent at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, CA.
The Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women.
The inaugural Invictus Games was held in London in 2014 and was attended by over 400 competitors from 13 nations. In 2016, Orlando hosted the second Invictus Games with 500 competitors from 14 nations taking part. The 2017 Invictus Games continues to grow and will be held in Toronto September 23-30, 2017 with 550 competitors and 17 nations participating.
This is Brewer’s second time coaching the US Team for Invictus. Brewer was also selected to the staff for the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando Brewer previously coached at the prestigious ‘Iolani School in Honolulu, HI and now serves as CEO of Open Water Planet and Head Coach for the Air Force’s adaptive sports program.
Brewer will be joined by SOCOM (Special Operations) Head Coach and fellow UGA Swimming alumni Tracy Collett who was also a part of the 2016 coaching staff.

We have an amazing team of athletes this year and plan to continue to show our strength as a swimming nation.” Brewer added. “Seeing these service members, who gave so much for our country, adapt and conquer in this environment is something everyone should experience. There is nothing more inspiring in the entire sporting world than the Invictus Games. I guarantee that.”
