Shawnee Mission East High School seniors and Kansas City Swim Academy teammates Hayden Linscott and Ian Longan signed National Letters of Intent to swim in college next year, with Linscott committing to Minnesota and Longan, to DePauw.
Hayden Linscott (Mission Hills, Kansas) – University of Minnesota
Linscott is a sprinter who placed second in both the 50 and 100 free at the 2017 KSHSAA Boys 6A State Championships in February. He swims year-round with Kansas City Swim Academy, whom he represented at Winter Junior Nationals in December. He was a finalist last year at the long course NCSA Summer Swimming Championship. His best times are:
- 50 free – 21.26
- 100 free – 45.98
- 100 fly – 52.32
- 100 back – 54.22
Ian Longan (Leawood, Kansas) – DePauw University
Longan specializes in free, back and fly. He was state champion in the 100 back and finished fourth in the 50 free at the 2017 6A State Meet. Swimming with Kansas City Swim Academy, Longan had a particularly strong 2016-17. His top SCY times are:
- 50 free – 21.60
- 50 back – 25.40
- 100 back – 52.31
- 100 fly – 53.99
