Freestyler Adam Osowski Commits to Swim for Columbia University

Adam Osowski announced his verbal committed to Columbia University, saying, “I committed to Columbia because of the amazing team and second to none academics. I can’t wait to be apart [sic] of such an amazing team next year. Go Lions!”

Osowski is a senior at William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California. He specializes in the entire range of freestyle events and placed fourth in the 100 (45.35) and eighth in the 200 (1:40.15) at the 2016 CIF-Southern Section Division I Championships. He led off Hart’s 200 free relay in 21.23 and anchored their 400 free relay with 44.48.

Osowski swims year-round with Canyons Aquatic Club, and is a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier in the 50/100/200/500 freestyle distances. During long course season last summer, he competed at Stanford Futures in the 50/100/200/400m freestyles, then went on to represent Southern California Swimming at the all-star meet, North American Challenge Cup.

His top SCY times include:

  • 50 free – 21.02
  • 100 free – 45.32
  • 200 free – 1:38.94
  • 500 free – 4:30.28
  • 1000 free – 9:43.88

Osowski will join the Lions with Albert Gwo, who will also begin to swim for Columbia University in the fall.
