Serra Aydan of Aiken-Augusta Swim League Opts for American University

Aiken-Augusta Swim League’s Serra Aydan signed with American University in a ceremony at Lakeside High School in Evans, Georgia, on March 29th. “I chose American because of the strong athletics and great academics! I can’t wait to be an Eagle and be a part of such an intelligent and strong team with an amazing coaching staff.”

Aydan represented Lakeside at the 2017 Georgia High School 6-7 A State Swimming & Diving Championships in February, swimming the 200 free and 500 free. She was also a member of the Panthers’ 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Her best events include:

  • 100y back – 1:00.61
  • 200y back – 2:07.86
  • 50y free – 25.45
  • 100y free – 54.70
  • 200y free – 1:56.15

“Serra Aydan has been a dedicated ASL swimmers for 9 years. She has been an outstanding leader in the Senior and Senior National training groups and will be making a great addition to the American University Swim Team. She is graduating from Lakeside High School with outstanding academics and cannot wait to take her education to the next level. In her years with ASL, she has represented our team both as highly competitive athlete and as a genuine person with great character. We look forward to seeing what is to come in Serra’s future and wish her the best!” says ASL Program Director, Adam Sasso. “ASL would like to congratulate Serra Aydan and wish her well with her college swimming career.
