Crocker has always made me laugh. He has never looked fit. Always chubby, even in his prime. But it was just an impression. He was fit. Monster swimmer. The perfect rival for MP in the 100 fly. He was the rabbit with an insane speed base and MP was the hunter with an insane finish. Memorable battles between both champions. But always with much respect for each other.

MP recently said that, aside from battling himself, the toughest competitors for him were Crocker and Lochte.

Ion is one of the greatest swimmers ever! On top of that he is one of the kindest, most sincere people I have ever met. He does swim clinics and is outstanding. My favorite Olympian!

I agree 100%. Ian would always say hello and continue conversations we had a year-two years earlier whenever I ran into him at nationals, etc.. Polite, humble, sincere. A great champion, an even better person.

Nice chops! Looks like that guitar has seen it’s share of double-workouts.
