New York Sprit Free/Flyer Conor Mullin Verbally Commits to Iona

Conor Mullin, a senior at New York City’s Xavier High School, has committed to swim for Iona College in New Rochelle, New York as a part of the class of 2021. Mullin swims for the LaGuardia Twisters Aquatic Club in Queens New York. “Iona was the best fit for me both academically and athletically. I can’t wait to swim there in the fall!”

As a freshman at Xavier, Mullin qualified for the NYS Championships as the freestyle leg of the 200 medley relay. The following year he qualified individually in the 50 free and 100 fly. Last year, as a junior, he finished 14th in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 fly at the 2016 NYSPHSAA Federation Championships.

Mullin’s 2015-16 club season wrapped up on a high note with a very successful Senior Zone Long Course Championship Meet, in which he went best times in the 50m free (25.11), 100m free (55.62), 100m fly (59.10), and 200m fly (2:15.65). His best SCY times are:

  • 50 freestyle – 21.66
  • 100 freestyle – 47.50
  • 200 freestyle – 1:45.54
  • 100 butterfly – 51.46
  • 200 butterfly – 1:58.40

Mullin will join Ohio’s Gabriel Finch who has also committed to the Iona College class of 2021.
