Pennsylvania State Medalist Hannah Schlegel Signs with Ohio University

The Ohio University women have added another new member to their recruiting class with the addition of Hannah Schlegel. A native of Elverson, Pennsylvania, Schlegel is currently training with Boyertown YMCA Navy Seal Swimming. She’ll be making the move to Ohio after graduating from Twin Valley High School at the end of this school year.

“I choose Ohio University because I felt like I was home with the Team and Coach Baugh. I am excited to be part of a growing team and be part of a great big family!”

Schlegel’s Top Times:

  • 200 free- 1:52.25
  • 500 free- 4:54.29
  • 1650 free- 16:50.23
  • 100 breast- 1:06.11
  • 400 IM- 4:24.89

Schlegel is primarily a distance freestyler, so her biggest contributions will likely come in the 200 through 1650 freesyles. Throughout her high school career, she’s won 8 medals at the PIAA AA State Swimming Championships. Her highest finish came in 2015, when she placed 2nd in the 500 free.

Schlegel holds multiple team records for her high school and club team. She has the Twin Valley school records in the 100 breast, 200 free, and 500 free. She also holds her club team’s records in the 1650 yard free, 400 meter IM, 800 meter free, and 1500 meter free.
