The Wayland Baptist swimming team is starting their fourth year as a program. This year they are beginning to see success with their men’s squad tied for third in the first 2016-17 NAIA pool, while the women are tied for sixth.
“Our guy’s goal is to finish in the top three, so we’re right there, and we want our women to finish in the top five, so they’re getting there,” WBU coach Alyson Hannan said.
The Pioneer men finished 6th nationally last season, while the women ranked 10th.
The men are tied with first-year program Keiser. The women share the sixth slot with College of Idaho. They look to improve upon their rankings with their next duals against Texas-Permian Basin and McMurry in Abilene on Nov. 11
