Bridgette Allison, a senior at El Segundo High School in Southern California, has verbally committed to swim at California State University, Bakersfield in the fall.
“I choose to attend Cal State Bakersfield next year. I decided to spend the next four years there because I honestly enjoyed watching how hard they train and witnessing how much work they put in so that they can achieve their goals. I know that when I go there my swimming will improve greatly. Along with improving my swimming I will also be receiving a phenomenal education. But the best part about Bakersfield in my opinion was the team, they are honestly what made me choose this school. They are a family and that is exactly what I was looking for in a school and I found that bond with them. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to attend Bakersfield, and I am beyond excited to become a part of the roadrunner family.”
Allison’s sweet spot is the 100/200 freestyle, and she’s been an A-finalist in both those events at the 2015 and 2016 CIF-Southern Section Division III Championships. In club swimming, Allison represents Alpha Aquatics. She competed in the 100/200 freestyles at CA/NV Sectional Championships in December, and in the 50/100/200m free, 100m back, and 100m fly at Southern California Swimming’s Junior Olympics in July.
Her best SCY times are:
- 100 free – 53.03
- 200 free – 1:54.71
- 100 back – 1:02.39
- 100 fly – 1:01.10
