The Great Wolf Swim Team’s Sarah Laman will be sporting the red and black next season, as she’s made her college decision with a verbal commitment to the University of Incarnate Word. Laman will make the move to UIW from Minnesota after she graduates from Centennial High School at the end of this school year.

Last season, Laman competed in the 100 breast and 200 IM at the Class AA Minnesota True Team State Championships. In the 100 breast, she cracked the top 16, earning an 11th place finish with her personal best 1:06.96. She then went on to compete at the 2016 Dolfin Junior National Championship Cup, where she placed in the top 30 of the 50 breast and 200 breast.
Laman’s Top Times:
- 100 breast- 1:06.96
- 200 breast- 2:23.05
- 200 IM- 2:15.78
- 400 IM- 4:39.71
When she arrives on campus, Laman will be training alongside now-sophomore Lexie Farmer, who scored in the 100 breast as a freshman at the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships. Laman’s best time in the 200 breast is already fast enough to have made the B-final last season, so she should have an immediate scoring impact for UIW at the CCSA meet. Additionally, her 100 breast time would’ve made the C-final last season.
