LSU Adds 2 More With Verbals From Lexi Daniels And Kit Hanley

The LSU women have added 2 more to their group of incoming freshmen, as Lexi Daniels and Kit Hanley have verbally committed to joing the Tigers next fall. Daniels will add depth tho the LSU roster in the distance events, while Hanley will contribute in the sprint and middle distance races.

Lexi Daniels:

Daniels is a swimmer for the Clayton Shaw Park Tireriders, and will be making the move to LSU from her home state Missouri. Last season, she qualified to swim the 500 free, 1650 free, and 400 IM at the NCSA Spring Championships. Her highest finish came in the mile, where she was 26th overall.

In the long course pool, Daniels was a the 1500 free champ at the 2015 Columbia Sectionals, where she posted a personal best 17:20.42. She also competed in the 2016 NCSA Summer Championships, swimming to top 20 finishes in the 400 free and 800 free.

Daniels’ Top Times:

Event Best Time
200 free 1:54.51
500 free 4:57.61
1650 free 16:55.07
400 IM 4:29.30
200 fly 2:10.99

Daniels’ biggest impact will likely come in the distance free races. The Tigers will be graduating Devon Dabney, their only returning SEC scorer in the mile, at the end of this season. Daniels shoud help make up for Dabney’s departure, as she’s already a 16:55 miler.

Kit Hanley:

Hanley is a swimmer for Washington Township Swim Club in Indiana. She’ll head to LSU after graduating from North Central High School at the end of this school year.

Last season, Hanley won the 200 free and placed 2nd in the 100 free at the Inidiana Girls Sectional Championships. She then went on to finish in the top 16 of both the 100 free and 200 free at the 2016 Indiana Girls State Championships.

Hanley’s Top Times:

Event Best Time
50 free 24.50
100 free 52.19
200 free 1:51.52
500 free 5:03.09
200 IM 2:07.95

At LSU, Hanley will join a sprint free group that includes Haylee Knight, who just barely missed the C-final of the 50 free at 2016 SECs. She’ll also be training for the 200 free with Tennyson Henry, who competed in the 200 free at the conference meet last season.
