CCSA Announces Wahby and Wright for Male Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – UMBC sophomore Ahmed Wahby (Maadi, Egypt) has been named the CCSA Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while his teammate Elijah Wright (Baltimore, Md.) has been named CCSA Men’s Diver of the Week, for meets contested Oct. 3-10, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Wahby earned three individual victories against George Mason and was also the third leg in the 400 relay that recorded a 46.00 second split, as the team won with a time of 3:02.90. Individually, he won the 100 with a time of 50.23, the 200 back with a time of 1:50.09 and the 200 fly in 1:52:00.

Wright finished fifth and sixth in the one-meter and three-meter dives, respectively. The sophomore scored a 242.90 on the one-meter board, and a 203.15 on the three-meter board.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos (NJIT).
