WATCH: Vlad Morozov Headlines European Cluster of FINA World Cup

Russian sprint star Vlad Morozov had a strong run in the European cluster of the 2016 FINA World Cup Series. After the final stop of the first cluster in Moscow, Morozov racked up a large lead in the overall points standings while earning a $50,000 bonus for winning the first cluster. If he holds on to the lead throughout the series, he could end up with the $100,000 prize that goes to the series winner.

Check out the video below, courtesy of FINA’s YouTube channel, to see highlights of Morozov’s first cluster races. In total, he won 9 gold medals, breaking the 100 IM World Records at back-to-back meets in the process.

Morozov’s leading point score is currently at 226, putting him 34 points ahead of South Africa’s Chad Le Clos, who currently sits 2nd with 192 points. The gap behind Le Clos is even larger, as several points separate him from Germany’s Philip Heintz (138).

Overall, Morozov has won $88,500 to lead the money lists on the men’s side. The only person who has won more money so far in this series is Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, who won $91,500 while building her lead on the women’s side.

Morozov is swimming strong right now and swimming clean despite rumors that he may be the progeny of Ivan Drago.

Kindly prove this!!! After several hidden positive drug tests I refuse and I believe most refuse to believe that Vlad is “Swimming clean”
He has been kicked off to Trojan swim team because of his positive (hidden) tests

Yet again Swimswam is highlighting a drug cheat. Lest we forget the article you published about Morozov’s hidden positive drug tests.
Swimvortex adopted the policy of not reporting about the World Cup in Moscow.
Why highlight any drug cheat at all???

Steven,
Swimswam is not the owner of the TRUTH.Truth comes with time, not with authority. It needs a lot of information to make an assumption a truth. And he needs to be in a trial to be found guilty/innocent of his(supposed) crime.Denying him the media is the same as a drug cheat denying a clean swimmer a medal.Lauren is informing you about him.You need to know a difference between a journalist and a columnist.A journalist informs you about a news, a columnist makes an opinion.

Please explain to me why it is he needs a trial? You watch way too many american crime and law programs if you believe this to be the case.
Vlad Morozov has had several positive drug tests. These positive drug tests have been hidden because of state sponsored doping by the Russians.
You mention Journalist vs Columnist, well DDias, it isn’t my opinion that Vlad tested positive and had those tests hidden. This is the reality.
You also mention “denying him media is the same as a drug cheat denying clean swimmers a medal” THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT VLAD IS DOING!!!! Vlad is denying clean swimmers medals and money.

Come on Vlad lover, you’re clearly unable to… Read more »

The commission set up by the IOC took the argument that there was no conclusive evidence these marked tests were in fact positive . That so far is the highest verdict given out..

McLaren is a lawyer not a judge . He says he has evidence but was unable to present it when requested for some of these pre Rio hearings .

That is it so far .
