Catch Aussie Cameron McEvoy On His Journey To Rio

Every Olympian is on his or her own journey, including the fastest 100m freestyler ever in a textile suit. Australian dynamo Cameron McEvoy, nicknamed “The Professor” due to his love of and dedication to the study of physics, has been swimming since he was little and still considers himself ‘small’ when compared to some of his brute-sized competitors.

The Queenslander is doing something right, however, as McEvoy has earned Olympic berths in the men’s 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle and will also be an instrumental component in his nation’s relays as well. As the video puts it, McEvoy will be ‘the Aussies’ busiest man in Rio.’

In the video take a look at McEvoy in his early days as an age grouper to his recent performances as an elite sprinter, highlighted by cute pictures and exhilarating race footage. At just 22 years of age, the Rio Olympics most likely aren’t the last Games in which we’ll see this master of the water vie for his chance to step atop the podium for the green and gold.
