Elizabeth Pelton Announces Retirement

2016 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS

According to her Instagram, Elizabeth Pelton of the University of California- Berkley swam her last race today. Pelton posted an Instagram photo of her and her parents earlier today with the caption “From my first race in CT at age 5 to my last race today in Omaha, you guys have been by my side. Thank you so much for the endless support Mom & Dad! Officially a #swammer #gobears”

Pelton later confirmed her retirement with SwimSwam.

Pelton is a three-time World Championships gold medalist and American, U.S. Open, and NCAA record holder.

I have always enjoyed watching Elizabeth swim. It was a great pleasure watching her at this and past trials, as well at Nationals and World Champs. I wish her nothing but the best moving forward.

Congrats to Elizabeth on a great career! I met her once in line for the bathroom at a restaurant and she was very gracious. Good luck in your future endeavors!
