Watch Michelle Konkoly Set S9 50 Freestyle World Record

Michelle Konkoly was the lone record breaker at the Friday morning prelim session of the 2016 Paralympic Trials in Charlotte. She hacked the previous American Record 29.14 she set in Toronto in March of 2015 to pieces, removing .77 from her personal best.

Her 28.37 performance was enough to land her a World Record for the S9 classification and puts a target on her back for her closest competitors in Rio.

Michelle is in lane six in the race video above.  In the interview she shares some of her thoughts on this remarkable swim and her outlook toward the 2016 Paralympics on the horizon.
