Above, you can watch as Dan Hicks and Michele Tafoya, two of the three member NBC swimming coverage team (the third is, of course, Rowdy Gaines) talk about the personalities of the top U.S. swimmers.
“There is no other sport that I’ve covered that has a more eclectic group of personalities and characters across the board,” said Hicks.
“I think what these swimmers understand is that they get a limited amount of time to tell their story, to promote their sport, and to talk about this. And so, they are great about just being accessible and talking to you as much as you want,” said Tafoya.

I hope Rowdy Gaines has improved his commentating skills. His words come out in a jumbled, ADHD style, and he often says the same thing over and over. His voice rises to a scream.
Also, he often misses the key things happening in the races.
At the 2012 Olympics, the live stream swimming announcers were pretty good. It was Nicole Livingston of Australia, and a guy with an accent who was articulate and captured the excitement of the competition. You can hear them on some of the Youtube videos of the races.

What! Rowdy Gaines is amazing,so much better than the annoying Australian announcers.
Opinions. I personally love both. But I think Dan and Rowdy are so interesting and knowledgeable.
