The men’s team is highlighted by Pieter Timmers and Louis Croenen, both of whom were finalists at the World Championships last summer. Also on the team are Glenn Surgeloose and Dieter Dekoninck who were on the Belgian 800 free relay that placed 6th in Kazan along with Timmers and Croenen.
Fanny Lecluyse and Kimberly Buys were the only two Belgian females to swim in Kazan, with both earning multiple second swims. Lecluyse advanced to the semi-finals in all three of the breaststroke events, while Buys made the top-16 in both the 50 and 100 butterfly.
