Josie Hadaway has committed to swim at Berry College, an NCAA Division III school competing in the Southern Athletic Association. Hadaway will join her sister, Leigh Hadaway, who is just coming off a successful freshman campaign with the Vikings. The Hadaway sisters hail from Columbus, Georgia and swam for Jeff Pishko of Columbus Aquatic Club Hurricanes.

“Josie will bring talent and a strong work ethic to our program. We are especially excited for her potential for NCAA Nationals qualification and what she will do during her first season. She has a lot of room to shine,” commented Assistant Coach Catie Schmitz of Berry College Swimming and Diving.

Hadaway specializes primarily in breaststroke and IM, but she made great strides across the board her junior year, dropping 2.5 seconds in the 100 breast, 3.1 in the 100 fly, 3.4 in the 100 free, 5.1 in the 200 breast, 5.1 in the 200 IM, and 15 in the 400 IM.

Her top SCY times include:

100 free 53.74
100 breast 1:05.48
200 breast 2:21.71
100 fly 58.85
200 IM 2:09.34
400 IM 4:41.21

Hadaway will be an immediate-impact player for the Vikings. She would have scored in the A finals of all her top events at 2016 SAA Championships, and would have won the women’s 200 breast by 4 seconds.
