Six months ago we went on a women’s team retreat, where we sat around a fire and made our team goals. We went through each event and each one of use decided how fast we were going to swim at the end of the season and how we were going to do as a team. Six months later we are here. It was around that campfire that we made a commitment to our coaches, to ourselves and most importantly, to one another, that this season we were going to push ourselves harder than we ever have before in all aspects of our lives so that when the time came, we would be ready. The time is now and we are definitely ready. This year this group of women has done some outstanding things; An average 3.2 GPA, countless hours of community volunteering, dedicating yourself to becoming a better you ALL FOR THE TEAM.

Take a second and think about all the things each of you have accomplished this season. 4.0 GPAs, multiple in-season bests, most hours volunteered in our University. Those who were asked to throw down, delivered.

We have done the work, we have put in the time and there is no group of women that I would have rather have done it with. I am so proud, honored and humbled to be a part of this team, and there is no greater institution to represent. That being said, when we walk out on the deck tonight, lets walk with honor, pride and confidence because we are on hell of a group of women and we are about to do some pretty amazing things.
