Emma Nelson excitedly joined the UNC Asheville Bulldogs as a freshman for the 2015-2016 season. Nelson primarily trains backstroke and the 200 IM.
Nelson scored valuable third place points in her events at many dual meets throughout the season. She was successful at the 2015 Georgia Tech Mid Season Invitational meet with many season best times.
Nelson had standout swims at the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships, racing to multiple personal best times. Nelson’s time of 2:11.92 in the 200 IM was a all time best and gave her confidence for her upcoming 200 backstroke. Nelson not only earned a best time but also made the C final in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.68. She earned 22nd place points in the event for the Bulldogs.
