This is what Commit’s mobile application can do

Commit Swimming is preparing to launch its much anticipated mobile and tablet applications for both iOS and Android. As you’ll see in the demo, this new startup is developing some of the most cutting-edge software for writing workouts and collecting workout data.

Coaches that sign up on commitswimming.com for a 30-day free trial get access to a beta version of the mobile app available on both iOS and Android. If you don’t have time to check out the 3 minute video above, start at 2:04 and watch how you can speak a set into your phone and have Commit’s set reading algorithm do the rest.

COLLECT DATA WITHOUT EVEN TRYING

As seen in the video, collecting working data is as simple as “typing an email” on your phone or tablet. This data gets aggregated automatically, and allows coaches to view volume trends over time with Commit’s dashboard. Coaches can see how much their team is swimming throughout the season, what percent of their training is kick, swim or pull, and get volume breakdowns by stroke and intensity. All this information by simply typing out a workout!

How? Commit uses its proprietary set-reading algorithm to structure workout data from plain text. To learn more about this algorithm, check out the Commit Parser Tutorial.

ORGANIZE WORKOUTS ACROSS DEVICES & COACHES

If data isn’t your thing, Commit is still great for organizing workouts and collaborating with different coaches on your team. When you write or edit a workout, everyone’s account connected with your team will get the changes real-time on whichever device they use. Coaches can also write separate workouts for separate groups within a team, while consolidating and saving all of the information securely on the cloud. It’s like a combination between Google Docs and DropBox, but specifically for swim workouts.

COMING SOON

Although coaches can get the beta version of the mobile app if they start a free trial on the web, version 1.0 is officially expected to launch 1 month from now. The Commit team is also developing an application for athletes so that swimmers can log workouts and review the workouts that coaches send them through the application.

To stay tuned regarding these future updates, be sure to follow Commit Swimming on Facebook, Twitter, or subscribe to their newsletter.

Commit Analytics (Commit) builds innovative workout logging software for coaches and athletes to collect, analyze, and learn from their workout data. The company’s swimming platform is called Commit Swimming. Commit was founded less than a year ago by Dan Crescimanno, Dan Dingman, and Nico Gimenez. The founding team consists of two ex-swimmers and all three have known each other for over 15 years. They’re quick to respond and fun to chat with if you email them at [email protected]. We’ve been using Commit Swimming with my club for the past few months and have been really loving it. It’s worked to keep our Senior coaches and age group coaches on the same page with workouts and the introductory attendance features are a nice plus.

We can’t wait to see the whole attendance portion of the app develop in the next month or so.
