Navy Postpones Penn State, Loyola Duals In Heavy Snow Weekend

The snowstorm hitting the east coast of the United States continues to shuffle up the college swimming calendar, with Navy postponing weekend dual meets with Loyola Maryland and Penn State.

The Loyola Greyhounds were set to visit Navy Friday night, but that meet has been postponed, with no info on the makeup date on either team’s website.

Navy’s men and women were set to host both Penn State Nittany Lion programs on Saturday, but heavy projected snowfall has caused Penn State not to take the journey to Annapolis, Maryland.

According to a press release from Penn State, the men’s dual will be postponed til next week, while the women’s competition won’t be made up.

Penn State and Columbia will visit Navy next Friday, January 29th, for a triangular, and the Penn State women’s divers will compete as exhibition divers there, though the women’s swimmers will not compete.

The full Penn State press release:

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will not compete at Navy Saturday due to predicted heavy snowfall, however the men’s team will compete at Navy Friday, Jan. 29 starting at 2 p.m.

The Penn State men will compete in a tri-meet that will include Columbia along with the host Midshipmen. The Penn State women’s divers will also participate in exhibition at the meet, while the women’s swimmers will remain off.
