St. Bonaventure men’s swimming head coach Sean McNamee has announced the signing of 10 student athletes that will join the Bonnies men’s swimming and diving program in the fall of 2016.
Austin Childs is currently a senior at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, where he runs track and field in addition to diving. The 5’6″ 130 lb diver is the school record holder in both the six and 11 dive events with scores of 257.95 and 433.6 respectively. He placed fourth at the Texas Interscholastic Coaches Association meet and was named team MVP the past two years.
Jackson Kish comes to St. Bonaventure after a successful four years at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, Pa. The 5’10” 161 lb sprinter excels in the 50-yd free (21.70), 100-yd free (47.84) and 100-yd fly (53.28). He is a three-time WPIAL qualifier where he medaled twice. He is also a two-time PIAA State relay medalist.
Jacob Brown will join the St. Bonaventure swimming program after lettering four years at Queen Anne’s County High School. The 5’10” sprinter has posted time of 21.64 in the 50-yd free, 47.68 in the 100-yd free, 1:44.29 in the 200-yd free, 52.21 in the 100-yd fly and 1:57.27 in the 200-yd IM. He twin brother Joshua who will also be coming to St. Bonaventure as a freshman in 2016.
Joshua Brown comes to St. Bonaventure after four years of swimming at Queen Ann’s County High School in Centreville, MD. Josh is the twin brother of incoming freshman Jacob Brown. The 5’10” 150lb sprinter has posted time of 21.58 in the 50-yd free, 47.61 in the 100-yd free and 59.48 in the 100-yd breaststroke. He is a regional record holder and a Junior State champion in Maryland.
Mark Brindley is set to join the St. Bonaventure diving program after a successful high school career at Powhatan High School in Richmond, Va. The 5’10” diver posted scores of 339 in the 1-meter and 262 in the 3-meter events. In 2013 he posted a 10th place finish at the VISAA State Championship and followed that up with a fourth place finish in 2014. Named the Most Valuable diver at Fork Union Military Academy in 2014.
Matthew Petit is a 5’8″ 160 lb freestyle/backstroker from Liverpool, NY. He has posted times of 1:50.00 in the 200-yd free, 49.00 in the 100-yd free, 55.00 in the 100-yd back and 2:02.00 in the 200-yd back. He was named a member of the 200-yd freestyle relay that won a state championship.
Seth Erdley joins the St. Bonaventure men’s swimming program after a successful career at State College Area High School in State College, Pa. The versatile 6’0″ senior has posted times of 1:56.59 in the 200-yd back, 53.88 in the 100-yd back, 4:49.31 in the 500-yd free, 1:47.98 in the 200-yd free and 2:01.21 in the 200-yd IM. Was the 2014-15 PIAA District VI Champion in the 100-yd breaststroke.
Nick Burdo will come to St. Bonaventure after a successful career at Liverpool High School in Syracuse, NY. The 6’2″ 200-lb sprinter posted times of 21.03 in the 50-yd free, 45.54 in the 100-free, 1:40.24 in the 200-yd free and 51.10 in the 100-yf fly. He was a three-time All-American and was named sectional swimmer of the year in 2012-13 and again after the 2014-15 season.
