More national standards fell in the second men’s event of the morning, the men’s 100 Breast. Lithuania’s Giedrius Titenis smashed his own national record of 58.03 with a 57.08 to post the second fastest time amongst all participants this morning. Titenis only trailed Great Britain’s Adam Peaty (57.03)
It is also worthwhile to mention that Titenis’ 50 split (26.70) also dipped under his own 50 breast national mark of 26.91 from the 2013 edition of these Championships.

The other national record that tumbled in the 100 Breast came from Turkey’s Demir Atasoy out of the first heat. Atasoy recorded a swift 58.42 to down his own national standard of 58.60 from 2013.
