Though the women’s team did not record a top finish, the team had several respectable times including four top-10’s.

Much like the day one in which both the women’s relays finished in seventh, both the 200 Medley and 800 Free relays finished in ninth place today. The 200 Medley team (1:46.56) consisted of Cassandra Oltman, Tobie Zeller, Molly McNamara and Anna Evans. The 800 Free relay team (7:48.80) included Claudia Zido, Kimberly Jiminez, McNamara and Michaela Bargardi.

Zido (200 Free – 11th), Evans (14th – 100 Back), Oltman (16th – 100 Back), Zeller (16th – 100 Breast) all had solid individual races as well. Bethany Robertson, Kayley Chevalier and Meghan Miller finished one, after the other, after the other (16, 17, 18) in the 400 IM.

On the men’s side, Saturday’s performance was a deja vu of Friday’s.

Beginning with the 1M dive, Danny Roberts again topped the field as he did in the 3M, posting a score of 282.40. Teammate’s Daniel Wilcox (203.90) and Curtis Roden (200.80) both finished third and fourth, respectively.

In the pool, the Vikings score two more Busbey Natatorium pool records. The 200 Medley relay team, the first event swam in the 5:00 p.m. finals, broke the 2011 record with a 1:28.41. That team consisted of Philipp Sikatzki, Tommi Wolst, Szymon Golczyk and Declan Mclaughlin. Like Friday, the “B” relay team was right behind them in second place. John LaValle, Phillip Brittain, Adam Ingledew and Robert Tolson grabbed a 1:32.19.

In the 100 Fly, Sikatzki earned a new pool record that was established 31 years ago in 1984. He swam a 46.93.

Golczyk was not far off Sikatzki, swimming a 47.37 and earning a second-place. Ingledew finished fourth in the event with a 50.64.

The Vikings would go on to take three more first-place finishes as Gage Alleman won the 400 IM (4:00.21), Wolst won the 100 Back (48.83) and Golczyk, Sikatzki, Tolson and Wolst finished Saturday’s finals with a win in the 800 Free relay.

Sean Mulvin (1:43.00) and Patrick Walsh (1:43.03) finished third and fourth respectively in the 200 Free.

The CSU Magnus Cup will conclude with Sunday’s finals beginning at 3:00 p.m. The teams will race the 1650 Free (Fast heat only), 100 IM, 50 Fly, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 50 Back, 200 Fly and 400 Free Relay.
