Lead Senior Coach – Middle Tyger YMCA

Under the direction of the head coach, the Lead Senior Coach would develop and implement a season plan for two senior groups at our Middle Tyger (MTY) facility. The coach would work with our Pre-Senior One and Senior Two groups. These programs constitute the top 13-18 year old swimmers at MTY. Both groups have Y-National and Senior Sectional qualifiers, Southeastern Zone Champions, Age Group Sectional Qualifiers and champions along with numerous South Carolina State Champions. These two groups feed our national training group. The Lead Senior Coach will also be involved in the everyday operations and decision making of the YSSC program. Our staff works together with the goal of achieving increased swim team programing and participation throughout the Upstate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 3 certification or equivalent preferred
• Coach in good standing with USA Swimming required.
• Experience with swim meet and team management software, such as Team Unify or HY-TEK, required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid certifications required. Current Oxygen Administration certification required.
• Applicant must have excellent teaching skills with expert knowledge of training and stroke development.
• This position requires strong organizational skills and great communication skills.
• All hires will be required to pass a drug test, background check and complete YMCA prerequisites for employment
Salary will be commensurate with experience but this position will attract high level coaches.
