LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The season starts off for the UNLV men’s and women’s swimming and diving team this weekend, as the Rebels will be on the road for a Friday dual meet at Arizona at 1 pm, and that’s followed by a Saturday, 10 am contest at Arizona State in Tempe.

UNLV MEN
• UNLV has won ten conference championship meets in the past 11 seasons, including the final seven years of the Mountain West. The Rebels’ streak was narrowly broken in 2012 at the MPSF, but then won the 2013 MPSF title and the 2014 WAC championship
• UNLV finished in 26th at the 2015 NCAA Championship meet, which included one top-eight relay finish and a pair of individual top-16 scoring swims
• UNLV returns several swimmers that scored at last year’s national championships: Dillon Virva, Samuel Lameynardie, and Henrique Machado. Tom Paco-Pedroni and Or Sabatier will both be sitting out for the 2015-16 season while they are training with their respective countries for the 2016 Olympic Trials.
UNLV WOMEN
• The UNLV women bring back a strong group that is expected to challenge for a finish in the top half of the Mountain West.
• This year’s underclassmen group includes three sophomores and eight freshman, joining eight juniors and a seven-member senior class
• UNLV begins the 2015-16 season with five straight away meets.
