Jessica Wingo of Excel Aquatics and Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee has given her verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky for the 2016-17 season. Wingo is a sprint freestyle specialist who found herself on the podium twice at last year’s Tennessee High School State Championships. Wingo claimed the Tennessee girls’ state title in the 50y freestyle and went on to place third in the 100y freestyle.
Jessica Wingo’s Best SCY Times:
- 50y freestyle – 23.10
- 100y freestyle – 51.08
- 200y freestyle – 1:51.34
Wingo can only help the Wildcats’ speed, as the highest UK finishers at last year’s SEC Championships were Christina Bechtel who placed 26th in the 50y freestyle (22.95) and Kristen Wilson who placed 36th in the 100y freestyle (50.28).
