Big Ten swimmer of the week went to Minnesota’s Nick Orf, who won the 200 fly (1:49.77) in Minnesota’s dual meet with the University of Florida. His teammate, Matt Barnard, was again named diver of the week for his 1st and 3rd place finishes at that meet. The Golden Gophers had the trifecta this week, with freshman of the week going to Hunter Doerr. Doerr was a part of Minnesota’s winning 400 free relay and took 3rd in the 50 free (20.75).
Swimmer of the Week
Nick Orf, Minnesota
Jr. – Chesterfield, Mo. – Parkway Central
- Tallied a first- and fifth-place finish in the 200- and 100-yard butterfly events, respectively, against Florida
- Finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.77, ranking in the top 20 nationally
- Collected a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.27
- The 2014-15 Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns his first career Swimmer of the Week honor

Diver of the Week
Matt Barnard, Minnesota
Jr. – Brisbane, Australia – Orniston College
- Recorded first- and third-place finishes in the three-meter (416.10) and one-meter (323.48) diving events, respectively, in Minnesota’s dual meet against Florida
- Recorded NCAA Zone qualifying marks in both events
- Earns his second Diver of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Hunter Doerr, Minnesota
Fr. – Colorado Springs, Co. – Air Academy
- Collected first-, second-, third- and sixth-place finishes versus Florida
- Finished first in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:00.80), which ranks eighth in the nation
- Added a second-place touch in the 200-yard medley relay (1:29.91), which currently ranks 11th in the country
- Claimed third-place honors in the 50-yard freestyle (20.75) and sixth place in the 100-yard freestyle (46.92)
- Earns his first career Freshman of the Week honor
