Jordyn Gulle of Richmond Hill, Georgia, has made the decision to swim for the University of Georgia Bulldogs next fall. “I’ve always wanted to attend the University of Georgia being an age-group swimmer in Georgia. Also, my dad attended Georgia, so it’s been a goal of mine to follow in his footsteps,” Gulle told SwimSwam.

A senior at Richmond Hill High School, Gulle was a finalist at the 2015 1A – 5A GHSA State High School Championship (Small Schools) in both the 500 free (7th) and 100 breast (8th). Her club team is Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team, where she trains with Coach Bill Forrester. Gulle had a breakout meet at Sectionals in Athens this past summer; she dropped 2.6 seconds in the 100m breast and earned her first Summer Juniors cut, and then 2.2 in the 200m breast to make the Winter Juniors standard. Her top times include:

  SCY LCM
100 breast 1:04.67 1:12.68
200 breast 2:20.51 2:39.25
200 IM 2:11.65 2:24.96
400 IM 4:32.71 5:07.57

If she can make the kind of progress during this upcoming short course season that she made in meters over the summer, Gulle will arrive in Athens ready to make her mark at SECs. It took 1:02.6 to score in the 100 breast and 2:15.6 to score in the 200.

“One of the many reasons I chose Georgia was because it is the perfect blend of academics and athletics for me. The coaching staff is impressive, and so is the entire team atmosphere. It is a place that I want to be for the next four years!

“I have many people to thank for this opportunity. My swim coach, Bill Forrester, has been an integral part of my recruiting process. I am thankful for the guidance that he has given me. I especially want to thank my teammates for being supportive. It’s great being on a team like Georgia Coastal that promotes positivity consistently.”
