Martha McCabe is one of the top swimmers who will race the 200m breaststroke at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games. It’s looking as though the race is between herself and fellow Canadian Kierra Smith with room for a wild card to step up and challenge them.

The women’s 200m breaststroke will take place on the second day of competition.

The current games record sits at 225.62 set by Caitlin Leverenz in 2007. McCabe has already been faster than that this season, clocking in a 2:24.53 at Canadian Trials in April.

She’s currently ranked 13th in the world with that swim and is the top ranked Canadian in the event.

McCabe has had a very strong season thus far with some extremely strong performances on the Mare Nostrum tour in Europe.

Following the Pan Am Games McCabe will be heading to the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia.
