FINA recently announced two athletes have been suspended due to doping violations. The first was Belarus swimmer, Arseniy Gvozdeu (sometimes anglicised Arsenii Hvazdeu or Hvazdzeu). He received a four-year ban from the National Anti-Doping Agency of Belarus. The second athlete to receive a ban was Swiss diver Jessica Favre. The Disciplinary Chamber for Doping Cases (DC) of Swiss Olympic imposed a 3 month sanction following a doping control test conducted at the Swiss Championships on June 22nd of 2014.
After reviewing the doping control test, the Disciplinary Chamber for Doping Cases (DC) of Swiss Olympic imposed her ban starting on September 5, 2014. The scores and/or any prize money obtained by the Favre during the Swiss Championships were officially annulled. Her ban officially ended on December 5th, 2014, and she is currently eligible to compete again.

“On June 22, 2014, the diver Jessica Favre (SUI) was tested positive to the prohibited substance Tuaminoheptane (Class S.6 Specified Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Swiss Championships.
The Disciplinary Chamber for Doping Cases (DC) of Swiss Olympic imposed a sanction of 3 months’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on September 5, 2014, the date of her provisional suspension. The results obtained by the athlete during the Swiss Championships were annulled.”
