Commitments from the class of 2016 are starting to pour in just two days into the official recruiting season, with Wilton Wahoo standout Ky-lee Perry verbally committing to NC State.
Perry is a combination backstroker/freestyler who brings solid down-the-road potential to all five NC State relays. She’s probably best over the shorter distances, which should gel well with the Wolfpack’s prowess as a sprint school.
Perry’s Top Times (in yards)
- 100 back – 54.78
- 50 free – 22.46
- 100 free – 49.38
- 200 free – 1:49.99
That 50 free time already would have earned Perry an A final slot at the 2015 ACC Championships. She’ll help the Wolfpack reload after they graduate ACC champion Riki Bonnema after this coming season.
Perry would have been just outside the A final in the 100 free and also would have scored in the 100 back. Maybe more importantly, her lifetime-bests would have put her in the hunt for relay spots on NC State’s conference champion 200 and 400 free relays, events that have been hugely important to the Wolfpack’s rise within the ACC.
There should be good development potential ahead for Perry as well – she’s just 16 years old and heading into her senior year of high school.
Perry competes for the Wilton Y Wahoos and attends Brien McMahon High School in Connecticut. She’ll continue with the Wilton Y for one more season before heading to NC State in the fall of 2016.
OMG LOVE <3

So all her times are faster than the current world records?????
(The world records you’re looking at are in long course meters, methinks.)
I think it’s more disturbing her name has a hyphen in it.
