Missy Franklin Lends Voice to Denver International Airport Welcome Messages

Olympic champion Missy Franklin, who turned professional this past March after wrapping up two stellar seasons at the University of California, is adding to her list of out-of-the-pool projects by recently lending her voice to the Denver International Airport.

Along with former Colorado Rapids soccer player, Pablo Mastroeni, Franklin’s voice will be broadcast over the airport’s speakers in the welcome messages that play on the facility’s trains, particularly celebrating the airport for 20 years of outstanding service.

You can listen to Franklin’s signature bubbly and enthusiastic voice in rehearsal recordings here as she reads the following script, “Welcome to Denver, this is Missy Franklin, your hometown Olympic champion.  My travels take me to airports around the world, but I am always thrilled to come home to Denver International Airport.  Congrats on 20 years of outstanding service.”

Franklin and Mastroeni are now part of an exclusive club of sorts, as several other notable athletes such as skiing champion Lindsey Vonn, Broncos executive John Elway and Broncos player Peyton Manning have previously lent their voices to the recordings.

Franklin will be back in the pool this weekend at the Santa Clara stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series, where she is scheduled to complete in a total of five events.

I remember the very very funny stories& pics of flying completely mangled suitcases at the new super dooper Denver Airport baggage system from years ago . When I googled to see if my memory was right I see a May 15 2015 article with the CEO ‘reaching out ‘ to travellers still about Luggage .

My personal experience of Denver was fine & I especially remember the chocolate cafe but I don’t think people are going to be listening – too busy searching for their luggage.

When I got off in Atlanta I could not find my pack but saw it & all the Denver flight go to special claims . It was quite normal & they just think Denver was weird anyhow & what could you expect but problems ? Funny .
