After losing his NCAA record in the 400 IM, Hugh Anderson of Mary Washington was in the hunt for a DIII record to call his own again. He found it tonight in the men’s 200 butterfly. The previous record was set by John Dillion of Middlebury in 2010 at 1:45.01, which makes Anderson the first Division III man under the 1:45.00 mark in the event.
Anderson’s final time was a 1:44.93, with a powerful, come-from-behind victory, posting a 26.8 on his final lap to claim the win.
His splits:
- 23.84
- 27.06
- 27.15
- 26.88
Wow! A stunning similarity between Mr. Anderson and a one Andrew Seliskar!
Seliskar might be a tad faster…
