Verity Abel

Verity Abel:

Verity was born in London, England, but was raised in Connecticut. She swam for the Wilton Y Wahoos growing up, and was a part of the swim team at Staples High School. While at Staples, Verity was an NISCA All-American in the 200 and 500 free (courtesy of goduke.com). Her senior year she was high school state champion in both the 200 and 500, and is the state record holder in those events along with the 100 back. While at Duke, Verity is a part of the famous distance group in lane 8 where she trains for the 500, 1000, mile and 400 IM.

Club:

While in Connecticut, Verity swims for the Wilton Y Wahoos under Randy Erlenbach and Karen Roth. While swimming for them, she qualified for the US Open and Junior Nationals. She also went on to win the mile and 400 IM at YMCA Long Course Nationals.

Personal:

Verity plans to major in Psychology, with aspirations to become a practicing psychologist.
