The latest Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) dual meet polls have been released, and once again there is very little movement. The top three in each poll have been the same in every release this season, and in this case, the top four are both unchaged from the last poll prior to the semester break.
On the women’s side, Washington University jumped up from #7 to #5. Since the last rankings, they dominated their home invite over a very thin field and took losses against Division I opponents Illinois State and Southern Illinois, while beating another Division I opponent Arkansas-Little Rock.
They have a big meet coming up on Friday, January 23rd, against Division II opponent Lindenwood.
On the men’s side, the new #5 was TCNJ, who also jumped from the 7th spot in the prior rankings. They earned that spot after starting the semester with back-to-back wins over new #6 Johns Hopkins and #11 Stevens Institute of Technology.
Below is a press release from the CSCAA. SwimSwam is not a voting member of these polls, but they are posted as a courtesy.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Team Rankings are voted on by a committee of CSCAA member coaches. The rankings will be released on a monthly basis throughout the 2014-15 season.
The CSCAA DIII Rankings Committee will produce in-season rankings of the 25 best performing NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving teams in rank order at the time of each poll. The poll is not designed to predict the results of the NCAA Championship, but rather which teams would win head-to-head against other teams in the country. Ranking are based on performances that have taken place since the previous poll and include invites as well as dual meets.
