MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 9, 2015) – The West Virginia University men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams travel to face Pitt at Trees Pool in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The women will be searching for their first win over the Panthers since 2012, while the men will be looking for their first victory over Pitt since 2011.
“This is a very challenging meet and a great rivalry for us,” said coach Vic Riggs. “It has been several weeks since we have competed, and I look forward to seeing how the team responds to our training from Florida and this strong Pitt team.”
This will be the third dual meet of the season for both squads, with the most recent for each coming on Oct. 25, at Villanova.
“Strong performances from Andrew (Marsh), Ross (Glegg) and Tim (Squires) in our relays will be important for us to be competitive on the men’s side,” Riggs said. “For both meets our team will need to race and dive with no expectations other than giving it their best effort.
“Our ladies will need the same strong performances from our divers and relays as well. There are a lot of very good match ups for both teams which should lead to a fun and fast meet.”
The action is set to get underway at 11 a.m., ET, with the diving events. Results and information can be found following competition at WVUsports.com.
