In the above video from Simon Fraser University, head coach Liam Donnelly discusses his team’s position as the lone Canadian program in the American collegiate system (NCAA), and why that means his team has to be extra focused to compete.
Simon Fraser is on an extended break from official collegiate competition, and won’t race from November 23rd until January 17th when they swim the University of Puget Sound Loggers for the second time this season.

YOU ARE CORRECT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR SFU TO DO WHAT 90% of the DI programs are in relationship to the top of college swimming……act like you are real DI but in reality you are fake DI.
Too bad they are div 2, not very meaningful.
If there was a relegation system (like those in European professional soccer leagues) in NCAA, SFU would’ve been promoted to D1 already. I just don’t understand why the Yanks détestent the relegation system so much, though.
Too bad you have no idea how the divisions work and that its not a single programs choice to what division they are… #probablyubcjoke
