When I was at Sea World Florida back in 2006 I believe, the keepers of the dolphin enclosure said that it was a pretty recent phenomena seeing their dolphins blowing bubble rings. One started doing it, and then taught all of the others how to do it, and now dolphin mothers there are teaching their young how to do it. Pretty remarkable stuff.
