Florida Gulf Coast University picks up another commitment for the 2015-2016 season from Finland’s Fanny Teijonsalo. Teijonsalo made her decision to join the Eagles, continuing their success at bringing in top level international swimmers to Fort Myers, FL.
Teijonsalo can fill multiple roles for the Eagles, but the biggest impact she will make will be in the IM and Backstroke events. Her best times LCM are:
200 IM= 2:17.76 (2:01.72 converted to SCY)
400 IM= 5:00.45 (4:25.15 converted to SCY)
100 Back= 1:03.78 (56.37 converted to SCY)
Going off of last year’s results, Teijonsalo would have finished 2nd in the 200 IM, 4th in the 400 IM, and 6th in the 100 Back at last year’s CCSA Championship meet. Along with fellow 2015-2016 commit Barbara Caraballo, Teijonsalo will help ease the loss of senior and CCSA All-Conference swimmer Karen Valerio. Teijonsalo has lots of potential, giving the Eagles possibly another CCSA All-Conference swimmer, and possible NCAA qualifier.
