The start lists for the Danish Short Course National Championships have been published.
The competition will run from November 20th-23rd in Bronshoj at the Bellahoej Svommestadion pool.
With the many members of the Dutch national team in attendance this should be an exciting four days of racing.
One of the marque races at the event will be the women’s 50 freestyle where Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Femke Heemskerk and Jeanette Ottesen, who are all currently ranked in the world’s top ten will face off against each other.
Heemskerk and Kromowidjojo will also go head to head in the 100 freestyle while Kromowidjojo and Ottesen will face off in the 50 butterfly.
Kromowidjojo has also made an interesting decision entering the 200 freestyle. The Dutch star has only swum this event once, in October of this year, since 2011 when she recorded her best time of 1:55.77.
Heemskerk will also be competing in the 100 and 200 IM as well as the 200 freestyle.
Lotte Friis has chosen to bypass the distance events entering only the 200 and 400 freestyle.
There should also be some excitement in the women’s breaststroke events where Rikke Moller Pedersen, who is ranked ninth in the world in the 100 and third in the 200, will be up against Moniek Nijhuis, who currently ranks fourth in the 50, third in the 100 and 17th in the 200.
There are two noticeable absences on the women’s side as Mie O Nielsen and Inge Dekker have not entered the competition.
Although the men’s side does not include as many stars there should still be some great racing, as many of the swimmers who are included in the this year’s Great Danes program will be competing for medals.
Prelims will begin each day at 9:30 am local time (3:30 am EST)
Finals will begin each day at 5:00 pm local time (11:00 am EST)
