CSU Bakersfield Gets Verbal Commitment from IRSC Transfer Bryce Timonera

Bryce Timonera of Indian River State College, defending NJCAA national champions for the last 40 seasons, will use the rest of his collegiate eligibility at CSU Bakersfield.

Timonera verbally committed to the Road Runners after a strong freshman season at Indian River where he was part of an All-American 200 free relay, splitting 20.49.

He also went 20.71 in the 50 free to take second at the NJCAA National Championship meet last season. He was fourth in the 100 fly with a 50.12, although his career best of 49.32 came in the prelims of the event. He was 50.30 in the 100 back in prelims, and took third in the finals with a 50.42. he split a 45.78 on the champion 400 free style relay.

His 50 freestyle would be good enough for the fastest time among the Roadrunner men this season, while his best 100 fly time would be first on the team so far in 2014, although Mihael Vukic, a sophomore Louisville transfer,  has gone 49.89 in the fly this season.

Some of Timonera’s other times include:

  • 45.52 100 yard free
  • 1:45.95 200 yard free
  • 1:56.27 200 yard back
