Swim Job: U.S. Masters Swimming seeks Education Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Education Manager will be responsible for our USMS Adult-Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) instructor certification program and operational management of our Swimming Saves Lives Foundation.

NOTE: This position is full time and located in Sarasota, Fla. This position reports directly to the USMS Education Director.

ROLES AND DUTIES

Educational Services

USMS Logo FINAL3dEducate aquatics leaders on the benefits and reasons to become ALTS certified;
Coordinate the delivery of the USMS Adult-Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) instructor certification program including but not limited to, the schedule of classes, the securing of venues, the coordination of instructor schedules, the registration of students, the shipment of course materials and the processing of applications and tests for certification;
Maintain the database on usms.org of ALTS certified instructors;
Market and fulfill USMS educational products to our strategic partners, volunteers, coaches and members;
Help develop and deliver new educational opportunities for volunteers, coaches and members;
Coordinate Education Services participation at conventions, events and clinics;
Develop new and expand existing partnerships with organizations promoting safe water activities.

ALTS Services

Educate aquatic leaders on the value of having a certified ALTS instructor on staff or at their facility;
Schedule and manage the ALTS certification class schedule;
Identify and provide for the training of instructors who will teach the ALTS certification program;
Manage the contractor agreements and compensation of instructors teaching the ALTS certification;
Provide email and phone support to certified ALTS certified instructors;
Manage the certified ALTS instructor locator program on the USMS.org website;
Manage the certified ALTS instructor annual renewal process;
Update the ALTS curriculum as new and innovative teaching methods become available.

Swimming Saves Lives Foundation (SSLF)

Manage our foundation grant process including but not limited to customer service/answering SSLF questions, soliciting grants, tracking grant requests, communicating with grant applicants, ensuring agreements are completed, and compiling insurance certificates;
Collect, write and provide reports from grant partners;
Receive orders and coordinate, fulfill and ship SSLF support materials and collateral to grant partners;
Update SSLF information to our website;
Manage our donor thank you program including electronic and mailed tax receipt letters;
Develop and distribute SSLF donor solicitation information.

Education

Desired education: Successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree
Substitution: For candidates who do not have the desired degree, 1 year of higher education may be substituted with 2 years of additional related work experience with at least 2 years of college required.
