MEET NOTES: TCU Swimming and Diving to dual Kansas and North Dakota

The TCU men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams travel to Lawrence, Kan., for a double-dual with conference foe Kansas and North Dakota on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m., at Robinson Natatorium.

It’s the first conference matchup for the Horned Frogs this season.

Last year, the women’s team defeated the Jayhawks 176-124 in Fort Worth. The Frogs picked up 11 first-place finishes, with Mikayla Winkler earning 18 points for TCU as the top finisher with wins in the 200- and 500-yard free events, as well as the first leg of the 200-yard free relay. This season, the Jayhawks are 2-1.

It is the first time TCU and North Dakota will square off. This year, the Fighting Sioux are 4-3.

Both TCU squads are undefeated this season with wins coming over Tulane and UT-Permian Basin.

In the last meet against UTPB, the Frogs combined for 14 first-place finishes by 14 different individuals. The men’s squad won 118-83, while the women tallied a 106-78 victory over the Falcons.

The individuals who recorded victories in their respective events were: Ryan Whelan (200 free), Emily Gibson (200 IM), Carlos Hunnicutt (200 IM), Meagan Thompson (50 Free), Thor Stenfjord (50 Free), Maggie Burkhardt (100 fly), Adam Szilagyi (100 fly), Ali Bleasdell (100 free), Garrett Hills (100 free), Mackenzie Schuler (500 free), Connor Dobbs (500 free), Devin Newton (100 back), Cooper Robinson (100 back) and Michelle Garland (100 breast).
