Marlins Of Raleigh (MOR) swimmer Tosh Kawaguchi has verbally committed to swim for coach Peter Linn and the Eastern Michigan Eagles with the 2015-16 season.
“I really enjoyed the swimmers on my trip to Eastern Michigan and the coaching staff has a history of successfully getting swimmers to improve throughout their college career.”
Kawaguchi is a senior at Cary, North Carolina’s Cary High School, and a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. He is a versatile swimmer who will bring a multitude of possibilities to the Eagles. He has Winter Juniors -or better- qualifying times in 100/200 back, 200/400 IM, 200 fly, and 1000 free. Kawaguchi’s top times over the last two seasons include:
SCY | LCM | |

400/500 Free | 4:35.88 | 4:10.23 |
1000/800 Free | 9:24.48 | 8:42.02 |

Kawaguchi swam at finals of the North Carolina 4A State High School Championships in 2014, placing fifth in the 100 back and tenth in the 200 IM.
As an Eagle, Kawaguchi should have A-final-worthy times at MAC Conference Championships in the 200 back and should easily qualify for the B-final in the 400 IM, 100 back, 500 free, and 1650 free.
