Gainesville, Fla. — The University of Florida men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams are in action on Friday (Oct. 10), as the Gators host Southeastern Conference-rival LSU in the Stephen O’Connell Center Natatorium. The men’s and women’s three-meter dive will begin at 3 p.m. and swimming events will start at 4 p.m.

UF will look to keep its perfect record against the Tigers, as the Gators are a combined 34-0 all-time (Men, 21-0, Women, 13-0).

The Gators are coming off the Pinch a Penny All Florida Invitational, where the Florida men captured 13 individual titles and all five relay victories, while the Gator women notched six individual and two relay event wins en route to both teams fifth-straight Invitational title last weekend. In addition, UF registered 16 NCAA ‘B’ standard times throughout the Invite.

TROY’S TALKING

“LSU is going to be a pretty good matchup for us, from the standpoint of having a dual meet at home early in the year. They’re a slightly stronger team then what Arkansas was for our women, so that will be a good challenge for us. For the men, it will be a good opportunity to see how we respond to a dual meet format.”

Head Coach Gregg Troy

Following last weekend’s Invite, Florida’s men hold the nation’s top times in seven events, including the 200-yard freestyle (Pawel Werner, 1:37.08), 500-yard free (Mitch D’Arrigo, 4:24.67), 200-yard backstroke (Corey Main, 1:45.51), 200-yard breaststroke (Matt Elliott, 1:58.05), 100-yard butterfly (Caeleb Dressel, 47.74), 200-yard individual medley (Eduardo Solaeche-Gomez, 1:47.58) and the 400-yard IM (Elliott, 3:01.04).
