The 2014 Dubai World Cup stop, the second meet of the 2014 FINA World Cup Series, begins on Sunday.
This meet will feature a much bigger participation from the local club swimmers, and the result will be fewer events where swimmers are able to slide straight through into 8-swimmer finals of races.
South African Chad le Clos started the series earlier this week in nearby Doha, Qatar with a three-win meet, sticking to a relatively thin 100 free/100 fly/50 free meet.
This weekend in Doha, he’s ramping his schedule up ever-so-slightly with an entry in the 200 IM as well – though he’s still shying away from the 200 fly that is arguably his best event.
Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, who leads the women’s side of the scoring, continues with her crazy multi-event session that sees her entered just about everywhere aside from the breaststroke events.
