Day Four prelims session will consist of heats of the women’s and men’s 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast, and 200 fly. Women’s 3m diving prelims will take place in the early afternoon.
In the women’s meet, Emily Trieschmann of Nova S’eastern is the top seed in the 500 free with 4:44.97. She won the 1000 free on Wednesday with a new Division II record. Indy fifth-year Kaitlyn McCoy tops the field in the 100 back with 53.37; last year she placed fifth with 54.15. The 100 breast is crowded at the top. Savanna Best of Nova is the highest finisher from 2022 and she comes in with the top time of 1:00.30. NCAA D2 record-holder Ann Carozza leads the entrants in the 200 fly by 1.4 seconds with 1:57.07.
The men’s 500 free will feature familiar names, including Cedric Buessing of Indy and Victor Rosado of Oklahoma Christian, who went 1-2 in the 1000 on Wednesday. But Santiago Corredor and Hayden Curley of Tampa are the top two seeds here with 4:19.96 and 4:20.77, respectively. Colorado Mesa’s Benjamin Sampson, the 200 IM winner, leads the entrants in the 100 back with 45.96. Findlay’s Daniel Garcia comes in with the lone sub-52 in the 100 back (51.93). McKendree’s Jackson Lustig is top seed in the 200 fly by more than two seconds with 1:42.14.

Ellie Walker of Drury won the first heat in 4:59.32, after coming from behind and blasting a 28.55 on her final 50. She dropped 4.3 seconds from her seed time and took the heat by 1.7 seconds. Lindsee Newman of Wingate improved her entry time by 1.2 seconds to touch second in 5:01.05.
Heat 2 was a photo finish, with Colorado Mesa’s Sophia Bains (4:59.25) touching out Alonna Clark of Rollins (4:59.32) and Jocelyn Zgola of McKendree (4:59.41).
UMary’s Victoria Murillo won heat 3 with 4:54.00, taking a 4.5-second bite out of her seed time. Erin McCann of Florida Southern was second (4:58.93), while Wingate’s Nina Azirovic (4:59.45) came in third from lane 8.
Wayne State’s Jordan Fox blasted a 4:52.38 to win the first circle-seeded heat ahead of Azusa Pacific’s Montana White (4:53.54) and Mikayla Niness (4:53.75) and Keeley Durkin (4:54.32), both from West Chester.
Defending champion Kate Agger of Wingate was first to the wall in heat 5, going 4:54.58. She won this event with 4:48.02 last year, eking out a narrow .08 margin of victory. Behind her, Colorado Mesa’s Olivia Hansson touched in 4:56.12 ahead of Nova’s Victoria Ortiz (4:57.63).
Emily Trieschmann of Nova, who won the 1000 free with a new D2 record on Wednesday, took the final heat in 4:49.79 for the fastest time of the morning session. Her teammate Ilaria Murzilli edged Colorado Mesa’s Katerina Matoskova, 4:54.01 to 4:54.24, for second.

West Chester freshman Kolos Nagy kicked off heats of the men’s 500 free with a PB of 4:31.46 in heat 1. Colby Hughes, a freshman from Drury, knocked 2 seconds off his entry time to win heat 2 in 4:29.73 ahead of Chance Ricca from Rollins (4:31.12).
1000 free champion Cedric Buessing from Indy when 4:22.78 to win heat 3, the first of the circle seeds. He won the consolation final last year with 4:23.73. Luca Alessandrini of Nova S’eastern notched a 4:23.21 to touch out Drury’s Joao Nogueira (4:23.72) for second place.
Last year’s runner-up, Victor Rosado of Oklahoma Christian, cruised to a 4:21.80 win in heat 4. Grand Valley’s Eric Hieber, 10th last year behind Buessing in the consols, went 4:22.75 for second. Christian Hedeen of Indy was third (4:23.82).
Tampa occupied the three middle lanes of the final heat, and they finished 1-2-3 with Hayden Curley (4:24.14), Barnabas Fluck (4:24.22), and Santiago Corredor (4:24.39) looking like they were swimming a synchro 500.

NMU sophomore Mia Strazny won a very tight heat 1 of the women’s 100 back in 56.10. Nova S’eastern’s Celina Marquez followed in the next heat, which was equally close at the touch. Marquez, who tied for second in last year’s final, got the win in 54.62 ahead of Kyla Blakemore from Carson-Newman (54.65) and Nova’s Mollie Morfelt (54.79).
Drury’s Alexandra Waller stopped the clock at 54.53 in heat 3, just ahead of MSU Mankato’s Abby Gronholz (54.73). Indy’s Caroline Reinke was third with 55.05.
Colorado Mesa’s Lauren White (54.27) edged Henderson State’s Kiara Pozvai (54.37) and top-seeded Kaitlyn McCoy of Indy (54.62) in the last heat. White and McCoy were fourth and fifth in last year’s final.

Colorado Mesa’s Jakub Kiszczak opened the heats of 100 back with a drop off seven-tenths off his seed time to grab a win in 48.13.
Findlay’s Tim Stollings went 46.80 to win heat 2 with a time that was .07 faster than his eighth-place finish in last year’s final. Khameron Glass of Drury (47.12) dropped half a second off his entry time to touch out Florida Tech’s Daniel Aizenberg (47.29) for second.
Lamar Taylor of Henderson State went four-tenths faster than his seed to win heat 3 in 46.42. Jeron Thomson of Indy (47.74), Patryk Rozenek of McKendree (47.79), and Raf Hendriks of St. Cloud State (47.86) followed in quick succession.
Drury’s Nathan Bighetti, who came in tenth in 2022, put up the fastest time in the last heat with 47.05. Colorado Mesa’s Benjamin Sampson, the top seed in this event this year, touched second with 47.49. Jon Osa of Missouri-St Louis (47.66) edged Noah Clancy of Missouri S&T (47.77) for third.

Rachel Johnson or IUP followed with 1:01.78, an improvement of nine-tenths from her entry time, to win heat 2 ahead of Indy’s Celina Schmidt (1:02.48) and Colorado Mesa’s Madeleine Moran (1:02.53).
Zara Konstapel of Missouri-St. Louis, last year’s seventh-place finisher, won heat 3 in 1:02.23 from lane 2. Lily Borgenheimer from Colorado Mesa, another A finalist from last year, went 1:02.59 to beat Alexandria McFarland of Tampa (1:03.24) for second place.
Nova S’eastern’s Savanna Best took the final heat in 1:01.28, just ahead of Wingate’s Amanda Wenhold (1:01.43). Best won bronze in this event in 2022 with 1:00.96. Nova took third and fourth in the heat, as well, with Claire Gass (1:02.43) and Emilia Ronningdal (1:02.87).

Micah McRae of Lenoir-Rhyne took heat 1 with 54.77, coming to the wall just ahead of IUP’s Athanasios Diamantidis (54.91).
McKendree’s Filipe Pinheiro, seeded 12th with 54.00, blasted a 52.69 to win heat 2. Oklahoma Christian’s JT Amrein, who placed third in last year’s final as a freshman, came to the wall with 53.02 ahead of Indy’s Brayden Cole (53.36).
Emmanuel freshman Luigi Da Silva went 53.17 to win a close heat 3. Wingate’s Fedor Sokolov touched second but was later disqualified for a stroke violation, so Florida Southern’s Matteo Zampese earned that slot with 53.38. Davenport’s Richard Polasek was third with 53.89.
Daniel Garcia of Findlay, who came into the meet with the top seed time (51.93) won the fourth and final heat with 52.73. Drury’s Davi Mourao touched out Findlay’s Luca Chiandussi, 53.29 to 53.32, for second.

Paige Mikesell of IUP, last year’s fourth-place finisher, took heat 2 with 1:58.95. Nova S’eastern’s May Lowy went 2:00.07 for second, while Sierra Gillan of Tampa clocked a 2:01.81 for third.
Luna Mertins, the runner-up in 2022, won heat 3 handily, going 1:59.71 to come in a body length ahead of Oklahoma Christian’s Cheyenne Denison (2:01.23) and Nova S’eastern’s Aleksandra Maslova (2:01.72).
NCAA D2 record-holder Ann Carozza of West Chester cruised to a 1:58.29 win in the final heat. Behind her, Drury’s Aurora Duncan (2:00.01) came to the wall half a body length ahead of teammate Mellie Wijk (2:00.89) and Hillsdale’s Megan Clifford (2:01.27).

Missouri S&T’s Nathaniel Baxter clipped Truman State’s Aaron Kohler, 1:49.45 to 1:49.47, to win the opening heat of men’s 200 fly.
Drury’s Andrew Rodriguez won the next heat by well over a body length with 1:44.79. Behind him, Colorado Mesa’s Dejan Urbanek (1:46.10) touched out Clarion’s David Bocci by .09 for second.
Drury went 1-2 in the penultimate heat, with Dominik Karacic beating Alejandro Villarejo, 1:45.14 to 1:46.04. Rollins freshman Luke Dinges came in third from lane 1, going 1:47.28 for an improvement of eight-tenths off his seed time.
McKendree’s Jackson Lustig, the top seed in the event, dominated the final heat with 1:42.64. Steven Aimable of Nova S’eastern placed second with 1:45.01, dropping 2.7 seconds from his entry time. Third place went to Indy’s Serhii Agadzhanyan (1:46.47), who improved his time by seven-tenths.
